Not every shape in the garden is comfortable – but each one holds its ground.
It’s possible to become comfortable in discomfort. That sounds like a contradiction, but it isn’t. Discomfort can become so familiar it starts to feel like home — and then change, even good change, starts to feel like the threat.
I think about this sometimes sitting in my grandparents’ house, in a life I didn’t build from nothing but grew into slowly. Some of what fits me here I chose. Some of it I simply never questioned.
That’s true for most of us. We settle into a job, a role, a way of being with someone, a way of talking to ourselves — not because it’s right, but because it’s known. And known feels safer than right, most days.
Where have you settled into something that doesn’t actually feel right?
No need to fix it. Just see it.
